Financial Aid and Tuition
Need-Based Financial Aid
Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is committed to providing financial assistance to students with demonstrated financial need. The program offers need-based financial aid equally to both domestic and international students.
This financial aid is offered as a tuition discount, which can cover up to 100% of tuition fees. If you have financial need, you are encouraged to apply for YYGS need-based financial aid.
Tuition Details
For YYGS Residential students, the full program tuition for one, 2-week session is $6,500 USD. This tuition fee covers all on-campus components of the program, including housing, meals, and curriculum materials.
However, please note that travel costs are not covered due to the program’s size and the legal and logistical limitations of working with globally diverse families.
If you are interested in attending YYGS but cannot afford the full tuition fee, you may be eligible for financial aid. YYGS offers a range of scholarships and need-based financial aid to help make the program more accessible to students from all backgrounds.
In addition to need-based financial aid, YYGS offers a variety of scholarships, including the Young Leaders Scholarship, which covers full tuition and travel costs for selected students.
Application Process

Application Fee and Deadlines
The application fee for the YYGS program is $70 USD. Please note that this fee is non-refundable, even if you are not accepted into the program.
There are two application deadlines for the YYGS program: Early Action (EA) and Regular Decision (RD). The EA deadline is November 2, 2022 and the RD deadline is January 10, 2023.
It is important to note that the application deadline has ended for the September 2023 session, and we are not accepting new applications at this time.

Early Action and Regular Decision
YYGS offers two application rounds: Early Action and Regular Decision. Early Action applicants will receive their admissions decision by December 15, 2022, while Regular Decision applicants will receive their decision by March 15, 2023.
If you are applying Early Action, you will need to submit your application by the November 2, 2022 deadline. Early Action applicants will be given priority consideration for admission and will have a higher chance of receiving a scholarship.
If you are applying Regular Decision, you will need to submit your application by the January 10, 2023 deadline. Regular Decision applicants will still be considered for admission and scholarships, but their chances may be lower than Early Action applicants.
